SIQUIMAR | SEMINARIO IBÉRICO DE QUÍMICA MARINA

The Iberian Seminar on Marine Chemistry (SIQUIMAR), held for the first time in Cadiz in 1983 and biennial in nature, represents a continuous communication between Spanish and Portuguese scientists who use chemistry and its tools to study marine processes. The various editions of SIQUIMAR have taken place in different Spanish and Portuguese locations – Cadiz, Vigo, Aveiro, Faro, Lisbon, A Coruña, Las Palmas, Alicante – with a deep maritime tradition and high activity in marine research.

For its XXII edition, SIQUIMAR comes to the city of Valencia, a city closely linked to the sea and home to various marine research centers. It is expected that in this new edition, a fluid exchange of ideas will be generated through the presentation of the results achieved, encouraging the attending researchers to undertake new collaboration projects.

As has been done in the last editions and considering the multidisciplinary approach to marine research, various sections are proposed: Chemical Oceanography, Biogeochemical Processes, Marine Pollution and Ecotoxicology, and Climate Change. This organization encourages marine researchers and those with a multidisciplinary profile to present the results of their best work in any of these sections.
